Minor Illness Clinic

The surgery is now running a Minor Illness Clinic. This is a nurse led clinic run by experienced and qualified nurses with specialist knowledge in minor illnesses.

Patients are increasingly consulting nurses about their acute short term illnesses, whether they have a cough, cold, sore throat, earache, rashes, pains, worries or anxieties to name but a few.

With this in mind and the ever-increasing workload in General Practice, we are now offering this service on a daily basis.

You will be assessed by a nurse, given healthcare advice, or if they feel a prescription is required, one will be issued. A doctor is available if the nurse requires a further opinion or if you feel your problem cannot be dealt with by the nurse.

This service is to replace same day urgent appointments. It is hoped that in time it will free routine appointments with your doctor, so you can get the appointment you require.
