In order to enhance patient service, we have implemented a new lo-call telephone number.

The surgery number will be changing to

0844 815 15 18

from 6th November 2008

Calling an 0844 number costs the same as calling a BT low call rate number.

Some phone companies do charge an additional cost to their customers, but if you have a discounted calling arrangement contact your network provider.  

Advise them the surgery is a health facility and request the number is included in your discounted calls.

• The new telephone system will give you choices

• It will give you a menu to choose an option. This will ensure you are being directed to the right person to deal with your call.

• It will inform you of your position in the queue. Giving you the choice to make whether you wish hold, or call back when the lines are less busy.

Our aim here at Nuffield House is to help the patients as much as we can. When we have spoken to patients or done patient surveys we scored highly on everything except telephone access.

Patients have commented that during our busy times the line is constantly engaged, and when they did get through their call sometimes had to be passed to another department. 

The patient survey  and comments were  discussed with surgery staff  and The Nuffield House Users Group before a decision was made.
